Your Complimentary Cosmetic Surgery Consultation

After contacting our facility serving the San Antonio and Austin area, you will be treated to a complimentary cosmetic surgery consultation. It is at this consultation that you will meet with Dr. Constance Barone and begin discussing your goals. This first meeting is one of the most important steps in the cosmetic surgery process. Dr. Barone encourages all prospective patients to be candid and forthright about their expectations, and she will be equally honest and direct in return. She will explain to you all aspects of the procedure you are considering, including:

• Risks and benefits
• Candidacy requirements
• What will be expected of you before and after the procedure
• Alternative procedures or treatments in the event you may be ineligible for certain procedures

Cost and financing of the procedure you are considering will also be discussed at your first meeting with Dr. Barone. Plus, your overall health will be evaluated, and any questions and concerns you may have can be addressed. Dr. Barone also encourages you to be frank with her about whether or not you smoke, and if you are taking any medications, vitamins or other drugs. Having a detailed view of your current and past medical history is crucial to making sure your procedure goes smoothly and any risk of complications is minimized.

Pre-Operation Preparations

Once you have decided on the cosmetic enhancement procedure that is right for you, the process of pre-operation preparation will begin. You will receive detailed instructions on how to prepare. As each procedure is unique and tailored to the individual patient, instructions will vary. However, most will contain guidelines on your diet prior to the procedure, as well as smoking, and/or avoiding or taking certain medications and vitamins. Dr. Constance Barone will also advise you to start making preparations for what needs to happen after the procedure is complete. This will include making any arrangements for time off from work you may need, as well as making sure you have someone to drive you home and take care of you for a few days, if necessary. Some procedures require higher levels of preparation and recovery than others. Post-Operation Recovery

Recovery times will vary depending on the extent of the procedure you decide to undergo. More invasive options such as breast augmentation, facelift, and tummy tuck generally require several days to a few weeks of rest before getting back to your normal daily routine. Less invasive procedures, including our lunch-hour cosmetic enhancement options, BOTOX® injections, and mini-facelift require much less time to recover after the procedure, and in some cases patients can resume daily activities immediately. Pain and discomfort following treatment can be controlled with medication. As with pre-operative preparation, Dr. Barone will give you detailed guidelines and instructions to make sure you achieve a quick and safe recovery that ends in results that meet your goals.
