How the Thermi™ System Works
The Thermi™ system consists of a radiofrequency machine, specialized SmartTip™ probes that apply radiofrequency and gauge temperatures, and a camera that provides a thermal map of the treatment area. Together, these components provide Dr. Barone a full picture of where the radiofrequency heat should be administered to achieve different results. They also help determine the appropriate level of intensity.
The Thermi™ system incorporates several measures to ensure your safety during treatment. Dr. Barone can set specific temperature maximums for the area she is targeting. The thermistor probes monitor the temperature of the treated tissue and will adjust the level of energy output should the tissue approach a temperature that is too high. Thermi™Options
Thermi™ comes with three different platforms for different applications. The degree of heat administered during treatment, along with the different probes, results in different cosmetic effects.
ThermiTight™
ThermiTight™ is used for subdermal skin tightening. Using thermistor regulation, the ThermiTight™ SmartTip™ probe is inserted just under the skin. Dr. Barone gently moves the probe back and forth, applying heat that tightens the skin.
ThermiRase™
ThermiRase™ is a Thermi™ application for the reduction of frown lines. ThermiRase™ targets nerves below the skin that have begun to cause lines. Using a specialized probe and a slightly higher level of radiofrequency heat, Dr. Barone creates small lesions in the nerves to reduce their capacity to create repetitive muscle contractions that result in wrinkles.
ThermiSmooth™
ThermiSmooth™ is the least invasive application of the Thermi™ system. This skin-smoothing treatment is applied on top of the skin using a specialized handheld piece. It stimulates the generation of new collagen within the epidermis, restoring skin volume and softening facial wrinkles and lines.
Using the ThermiSmooth Face™ device, Dr. Barone can adjust the level of energy output from specialized probes for a variety of applications, including melting fat, smoothing skin, and reducing wrinkles.
