Brow Lift
Commonly known as a brow lift or forehead lift surgery, this procedure is actually used to correct sagging skin and wrinkles in the forehead, upper eyelid, and eyebrow area. Dr. Barone offers both the classic brow lift surgery and the endoscopic brow lift. The two vary slightly but the results of both will be a smoother, tighter forehead area. During a classic brow lift surgery, one incision is made along the hairline. In an endoscopic procedure, the surgeon makes a few shorter incisions. A cameral at the end of a small tube is then inserted into one of the incisions so that the muscles and tissues can be viewed on screen. Tools to perform the procedure will then go through one of the other incisions. Whether you undergo the classic or endoscopic brow lift, the muscles will be altered and small anchors will be used to secure the muscles into their new position. Are You a Candidate?

- Be in overall good health
- Be free of any medical conditions that may make surgery too risky
- Have realistic expectations for the results of surgery
Recovery
The recovery from a brow lift surgery will vary slightly depending on the surgical technique. Patients undergoing the classic brow lift can expect a slightly longer recovery and may have a little more pain. In either case, you can expect to return to work in about 10 days. In the days following the surgery, you may experience some numbing or a tingling sensation. You will also most likely have swelling and bruising around the forehead, cheeks, and eyes. This should subside after a week. You may have some itching around the incision area which can last for a few months. Vigorous exercise should be avoided for the first few weeks after surgery. When you return home after undergoing a brow lift, you should be sure to have the following on hand:
- Plenty of ice
- Pillows to keep your head elevated
- Pain killers, which your doctor will prescribe
- Ointment for the incision area. Your doctor may prescribe this or recommend a product
