When you want to look your best, its important to consider how your entire body looks as whole. The curves and contours of one part of the body may affect the appearance differently in another part of the body. Its for that reason that our Austin and San Antonio plastic surgery center takes into account the overall appearance of each patient, working to improve and enhance their overall figure. Youd be surprised how little body contouring adjustments here and there can go a long way

Sculpting Your Body Using Expert Surgery

One of the things about body contouring that many patients dont realize is that the extremities are just as important to sculpt and adjust as the torso. The thighs in particular can droop and sag quite dramatically after major weight loss. Its for this reason that many patients choose to undergo thigh lift surgery.

About Thigh Lift Surgery

A thigh lift surgery is performed in order to improve the overall appearance of the thigh area. This means the fronts of the thighs as well as the inner thighs. Both such areas can sag with age or weight fluctuations, so tightening and firming the thighs through surgery will give you the look that you have always wanted. Austin and San Antonio plastic surgeon Dr. Constance Barone will be sure to discuss your candidacy for surgery and what to expect before and after treatment during a consultation.

The Thigh Lift Surgery Procedure

There are different ways that a thigh lift can be performed, and as with any surgery, the exact treatment and methods of treatment will be tailored specifically to the needs of each patient. Lets briefly and generally cover the basics of the thigh lift, however, so you have a general idea what to expect.

During an inner thigh lift, incisions will be made around the junction of the thigh and the pubic area. During a bilateral thigh lift (which targets the front and outer thigh), incisions will be made at the top part of the leg where the bottom of a bathing suit may be. For thigh lifts that target the upper inner thigh area, incisions are made around the groin area and back to the crease of the buttocks.

Whatever surgery you undergo, excess tissue will be removed and liposuction will be used to remove excess fat. The skin of the thighs will be pulled tighter for a more appealing appearance. Scars will be as discreet as possible and will fade over time. The surgical scars should be covered by most bathing suits and undergarments.

Comprehensive Body Contouring Surgery

Many patients who undergo a thigh lift also undergo other body contouring options as well. For comprehensive body contouring, its not unheard of for a thigh lift to be combined with San Antonio tummy tuck and other body lift options. If you have lost a lot of weight and need your entire body recontoured, we can definitely help.
