Craniosynostosis is a birth defect in which one or more of the joints between the bones of your infant's skull close prematurely, before your infant's brain is fully formed. Dr. Barone operated on this patient using an endoscopic technique that she helped develop. The mother wrote a book titled, The Helmet Man, which was dedicated to both Dr. Jimenez and herself.
