Breast Augmentation Cost
- San Antonio
Breast augmentation surgery adds volume and a perky shape to breasts that sag, droop, or are asymmetrical. Dr. Constance Barone is an expert plastic surgeon who works closely with patients to determine what type of breast augmentation best meets their goals.
Several factors go into the breast augmentation cost for each patient. Our San Antonio expert plastic surgeon can help you understand your options, and the final cost for this treatment. We also offer financing options including CareCredit™ and in-office financing to make payments more manageable. Contact us today to learn more.
What Determines the Price of a Breast Augmentation?
Our breast augmentations begin at $4,000, and may increase in cost depending on the type of implant chosen, and the insertion technique a patient chooses.
Both saline and silicone implants offer different benefits. Saline breast implants consist of a silicone pouch that is filled with a saline solution after it is placed. Saline implants can be inserted through smaller incisions, including the TUBA technique. Saline implants are slightly less expensive than silicone implants in most cases.
Silicone breast implants are filled with a silicone gel. Many women believe that silicone implants look and feel more natural than saline implants. Silicone implants usually are more expensive than saline implants. They are approved by the FDA for patients ages 22 and older, while saline implants may be placed in patients 18 and older.
A new type of breast augmentation, called natural breast augmentation, is a third option. In this procedure, Dr. Barone augments the breast using fat harvested from another part of the patient's body. Natural breast augmentation is less expensive than breast augmentation with implants, but generally produces less dramatic results than with implants.
Dr. Barone's placement methods include periareolar (through an incision created around the nipple), transaxillary (through an incision in the armpit), TUBA (through an incision in the navel), and inframammary (through an incision made below the breast). These methods each have a different level of recovery time, as well as a different cost. Because they require more precision, indirect incision techniques like TUBA require the expertise that Dr. Barone has acquired from years of performing this procedure.
Dr. Barone prefers awake breast augmentation. Patients stay awake during the surgery, but feel no pain, thanks to a local anesthetic. We are pleased to offer awake breast augmentation because it helps avoid the nausea and disorientation patients often experience with general anesthesia, and it is less expensive than IV sedation.

What Can I Expect from Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a popular procedure not only because it enhances a woman's figure, but also because it makes them feel more confident. In addition to a confidence boost, women often report that they find clothing fits better. Many feminine tops are designed with a woman's full bust line in mind. Many of our patients have found it easier and more fun to shop following their breast augmentations.
